Playtest Relay is a downloadable, local-only form builder for solo developers and small game teams. Configure one playtest brief, add the questions that matter for this build, and download a standalone HTML form you can hand directly to testers.

Private by design

There is no account, server, analytics, telemetry, external runtime library, or cloud upload. The generated form sends nothing. Testers export a report and return it using the channel you choose.

Workflow

1. Open builder.html.
2. Add the game title, build ID, test goal, known issues, return instructions, and custom questions.
3. Download the generated tester form.
4. Give it to testers with the build.
5. Receive consistent Markdown, JSON, or PDF reports.

Best for

Solo indie developers, small game teams, game jams, demos, closed alpha/beta tests, and teams avoiding another hosted service.

Important limits

Playtest Relay does not recruit testers, distribute game builds, capture screenshots/video/logs, send reports, aggregate reports, provide legal or privacy advice, certify compliance, or guarantee useful feedback or commercial results. The developer chooses a return channel and reviews reports manually.

Runs in current desktop browsers on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Tester forms are mobile-friendly; the builder is desktop-first.
